A team from Prosser, all Special Education students, have been training twice a week for the Special Olympics in swimming.
On the 4th of this month, they journeyed to Cheney, the campus of the Eastern Washington University, and participated in the Regional Special Olympics competition.
These kids came home with a pocket full of gold medals and ribbons!!!
Didja read about it in the Record Bulletin? Neither did we.
These kids now are qualitifed for the meet at Federal Way Washington next week and the STATE meet in Seattle!! Special needs students, each of them in different ways, making a very large name for Prosser and the Mustangs but not one word in the high school bulletin nor in the Prosser Record Bulletin - even after they were personally and individually recognized by each member of the school board.
Are there actually reporters at the local paper? Do they get out of the office or depend entirely on articles delivered to them? Do they really believe in the actions of students with problems?
Sure can't tell from reading the publication - which we won't be doing in the future. |
